Window coverings for our unusually-shaped windows:
“Innovative Openings” can handle coverings for pretty much any shape of window, with various opening and closing options as well.
Coverings that fit our basement window wells:
A neighbor has recently been searching for coverings that fit our basement window wells. Do you know where these can be found?
Getting rid of excess fill-dirt at a reasonable cost:
I did some landscaping and found myself with a pile of excess fill-dirt. I learned that it’s amazingly expensive to dispose of at Western Disposal on Valmont, but Front Range Landfill (which is in Erie) charged much less. They seem to have increased their prices a lot since then, though. (From Paul T.)
Drop-in replacements for Nutone model 696NB bathroom fans:
IF you need to replace a noisy or broken bathroom fan and IF it is original equipment, it may well be a Nutone 696N(B?) (info stamped on the galvanized housing; see the arrow in the linked images). BUT if you were to try to order a replacement on-line, (I couldn’t find one locally) you would receive a NEW version that would not fit. HERE’S THE TRICK: Call Nutone Customer Service (888 336 3948) and order Part Number C-350-B. That is the “slip-in” replacement for the ORIGINAL 696N. ($13 each plus $5 S/H.) IF a previous owner replaced a fan, they may have updated (which involves carpentry work that I did NOT want to do.) (From Rich Lathrop)
